WHAT I LOVE ABOUT REAL ESTATE

When I graduated DePaul University in 2007, I had the opportunity to enter the world of real estate. I fortunately past on that opportunity and pursued a career in sales. Overall my experience in the corporate world helped shape me into the person I am today. I met some great people, developed outstanding long term relationships, and learned some valuable life lessons. I held multiple positions, exceeded sales goals, won awards, worked downtown, worked from home, worked in the suburbs, traveled, hosted seminars, and somehow survived the turbulent times following 2008. Overall, I say I was fortunate to have past on that opportunity in 2007 because it ultimately helped me establish the real estate business I have today. Let me explain.

If I had fully entered the world of real estate in 2007, I would have faced some incredibly difficult times. Being a new agent isn’t easy. You need clients to put their faith in your ability. When you are new you are learning as you go. Once you experience a new situation you learn how to react, and are prepared in advance for the next time it comes up. In real estate you need to be reliable, responsive, and readily available. You need to anticipate and prepare for anything and everything that can happen. It’s not an easy business and one of the main reasons many new agents flame out in their first year. If I entered into this business in 2007 I strongly believe I would have faced a similar fate.

In 2013, I decided to make the shift full-time into real estate. After 4 years in this business, I can say without a doubt deciding to become a real estate broker is the best career decision I have made. I no longer dread getting up and going to work. I wake up everyday with a plan, excited to meet with clients and help them through the process of buying or selling their home. I’m prepared and ready for any challenge. It’s a rewarding experience and a true honor when a client chooses you to help them find a place they will eventually call home. I love real estate.
